Welcome to Arise!

Good morning and welcome to Arise! We are so thrilled to have all of you here and are excited to see how God will move among us over the next three days. We have been praying for each of you and trusting that God will meet you in powerful ways.
There are many exciting things going on each day…

If you haven’t settled on your Thursday schedule, there are still openings in some of the Point Leader classes. Conference Solutions will help you get signed up if you’d like to attend.

On Thursday night, there are a few tickets still available for Jersey Boys, the Tony Award winning Best Musical of 2006, which tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Check with Conference Solutions for that too.

Lastly, take some time to share your bloopers at the video confessional today. If you have the best story, you may make it into the final video.

Make the most of your time here, get involved, meet new people, share deeply with your team and be open to all that God has in store for you. We’d like your experience with us to be encouraging and rewarding. If you have even a modicum of concerns, please let us know, we’d like to help.

Enjoy Arise!

Is a discount available for part of the conference? I am a seminary student with a family of 4, and I can't afford the admission into the conference. My campus pastor at Taylor University was Richard Allen Farmer, and I'd love to hear him speak. (I'm not sure if any scholarships are available, but my creative arts website is JoelJupp.com. My contact information is 630-621-6238 or joel@joeljupp.com)

Lori, I am not there this year, but I was in 2005 and 2007. My wife Alitos is there this year. We both are from Costa Rica and I want to wish her the best and tell her that I love her and miss her, but I am sure God is doing great things in her and her ministry. Thanks Willow for this experience!!! Leo

There is not a day rate for the conference. But there is a rate for students, $135. You can view it on the ARISE site. You can no longer register on line but if you show up there is still the opportuntiy to register. I will try & give you a call or drop you an email.

RAF is teaching on Thursday in our teaching track, designged for pastors and teaching pastors. On Friday morning he is teaching @ the first session, 9:00 am.

Hope you can come.

I appreciated the first day of the conference!
My favorite part was the Robbie Seay Band.
Brilliant.

every person and group that i have had the opportunity to talk with today has spoken highly of this conference - there is a unique intensity and excitement that i am truly grateful for. it's not so much about the great facilities and programming...it's about the incredible interactions this conference naturally helps take place...people from all kinds of ministry settings and with all kinds of unique gifts and situations are happy to be here, ready to learn and be challenged, and hungry to see God move among his people. thanks so much for a brilliant, God-honoring first day. what a blessing.

Great first day - excellent sessions! Will notes or overviews of the featured sessions be posted on the blog? That was very helpful last year!

Chris,
Thanks for the encouragement.
We are working tonight on posting some highlights from the sessions and a few video interviews with some of the speakers.
I am pretty sure they are also working on developing a DVD of the main sessions.
If there is something specific you’re looking for let us know. We would like to see if we can help.

Funny thing. I left McLarens session thinking hard about the planet and our over consumption. I stopped at Dr B's for a coffee and noticed a man in shorts with his chair pushed up as close as possible to the fire just to take off the chill from the air con. The crazy thing was that he was reading a book about a Christians response to climate change. It seems mad to me that we waste so much energy trying to heat our inside spaces in winter then trying to cool them down in Summer.

I'm bringing a sweater to the conference tomorrow - it's freezing in there!

Is there a way to compile a list of bloggers/twitterers who are here and blogging about the conference?
